This page houses our collection of women's trail shoes. Whether you're looking for a new pair of mountain marathon running shoes, something that will get you safely to the bottom of a rock climbing route, or the right shoes for easy backcountry hiking, this is the right place to look. You'll notice that some are waterproof and some aren't. There are pros and cons to waterproof trail shoes. Obviously they'll keep moisture from soaking through to your feet and mean you can walk through puddles and mud without a second thought, but a waterproof liner does make shoes hotter than they otherwise might be, and once water gets in it doesn't drain out easily.

Whether or not a liner is a good idea depends on what the shoes are going to be used for. If it's trail running over long distances, it's probably not helpful, but for casual walking and climbing approach a pair of good waterproof shoes can come in very handy indeed. The next thing to look at is the sole. It should offer plenty of grip. This means deep, aggressive lugs and a really good rubber that will maintain friction even on wet rock. Trail shoes for women must also be well fitted to a female foot. If they're too wide (for example), they just won't be able to deliver the kind of stability and security that off-road runners need.
