During a camping trip into the Colorado backcountry with some inclement weather, Rob Hart found himself all too uncomfortable with sitting on a cold wet log at the end of a long day. After thinking about the problem, he remembered an old canvas canoe chair owned by his grandfather. With his newfound inspiration, Rob, along with Louise "Weezie" Chandler, worked on a prototype that eventually evolved into the Original Chair. With their chair gaining popularity, Rob and Louise started Crazy Creek and started hand stitching their chairs and were met with continued success. However, an unfortunate disaster occurred in 2009 whenever Rob was killed in a ski accident. While his employees and friends lamented his death, Crazy Creek pushed on to remain the great company that it is today.
