The first weekend of October is going to be a doozy at Appalachian Outdoors thanks to the slew of events we have planned. From Friday through the end of Saturday night, you can best believe Appalachian Outdoors will be buzzing with everything that’s happening at the store and around downtown State College. So what’s going on?
Friday Oct. 3
What: First Friday
When: Friday, October 3rd, 5-9 PM
Where: All of downtown State College
Come to downtown State College to celebrate the first Friday of October. Several stores and restaurants will be running specials throughout the evening. There will even be several street performers to keep you entertained as you move from store to store.
While we have a lot of our Spring apparel on sale, our First Friday lets you take 10% off everything else in the store, including brand new items! We’ll also have refreshments for you to snack on while you walk around the store.

Saturday Oct. 4
What: Fall Expo with guest speaker Jay Paterno
When: Saturday, October 4th, 10 AM – 6 PM
Where: Appalachian Outdoors
123 S. Allen St.
It’s that time of year again! It’s Fall Expo time!
Several vendors are sending their very own reps to hang out and talk with you about all of our products. Whether you want to know about new products, new technologies, or just want to hear our vendor reps geek out over their brand, they’ll be glad to spend time talking with you and demoing their products. Not to mention, many of them may even have giveaways too!
Speaking of giveaways, we’ll be holding a raffle all day long featuring some of our more popular items. As always, all proceeds will be going to local charities.
Throughout the day, we’ll also be offering discounts on purchases made throughout the store. Once you step up to the cash register, you’ll be able to pull a chip out of a bag. Depending on the chip you pull, you’ll receive 10-100% off your entire order.
We’re also pleased to announce that Jay Paterno will be paying a visit to have a special Q&A session and book signing. It’s sure to be a can’t miss event!
The 15th annual Fall Festival will be taking place on Allen Street and throughout the rest of downtown State College. There will be games, performers, and plenty of deals throughout the city. It’s sure to be a blast for the whole family!
