Boating Instructor Position:
Instruct youth ages 11-16 on the fundamentals of kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddle boarding during 4 weeks of summer camps. Provide fun, safe, and educational instruction on the parts of the boat, various paddling strokes, safety procedures and techniques, stream reading, and more. Organize and lead flatwater and river excursions. Responsible for a group of 10 campers per week, including handling discipline issues as they arise, with assistance of two nature center staff and a lifeguard. Responsible for equipment and camp logistics. Provide supervision of campers, nature center staff, and lifeguard. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.
Season: 4 weeks, Monday – Friday, June 14-25 & July 6 – 16; additional days for training
Shift times: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay Scale: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience
