Last week, we discussed how important it is to clean your bottle, and this time around, I’d like to dive into my favorite non-insulated bottle, which is Klean Kanteen’s Classic 27oz Bottle. Sure, it’s a fairly simple bottle that isn’t insulated or really all that technical, but I’ve found that’s it’s all that I need whenever my beverage of choice is nothing more than some h2o. After all, as long as you aren’t in the middle of Death Valley or somewhere similar, you can probably save yourself a few bucks and opt for a non-insulated bottle.

With all of the above said, let’s take a look at what makes this bottle perfect for me. First things first, I’ll say that this bottle goes just about everywhere that I go, and that means that the last thing that I want to do is spend the majority of my day seeking a water fountain for a quick refill. This is where this bottle’s hefty 27 ounce volume really comes in handy. Provided that I’m not spending my day exerting a ton of energy, 27 ounces seems to be just the right amount of space for me to stay nice and hydrated without the constant battle of refilling.

Not only do these 27 ounces quench my thirst, but they’re crafted from a pretty awesome 18/8 stainless steel (for all of the tech-wizards who need to know everything, 18/8 means that the stainless steel is comprised of 18% chromium and 8% nickel). This means that washing and clean-up is a breeze, you don’t need to worry about any gross bacteria build-up when you can’t bathe your bottle, and gone are the days of unwanted flavors sticking around longer than you like. When combined, you’ll quickly find that it’s hard to find any other bottle offering that sort of convenience and longevity. With that convenience, though, comes one drawback (or a benefit depending on how you view it), which is that this bottle can, and will, dent if you drop it hard enough. I, however, am a pretty big fan of dented water bottles. I mean, it is your water bottle, it should accompany you on your journeys, so why not show off the abuse that it’s able to endure and the road that it took to get where it is?

Alright, last but certainly not least, pretty much any of the caps that you choose offer an incredibly useful ability to clip onto a carabiner. Whether it’s my fly fishing vest, my backpack, or briefcase, I can always find a place to clip my bottle that’s out of the way but easily accessible.

Simply put, I wasn’t always a water bottle guy. This abruptly ended, however, as soon as I picked up Klean Kanteen’s Classic 27oz Bottle. Obviously, buying and throwing away a disposable bottle isn’t the best for the environment, and purchasing a plastic water bottle may have its own negative side effects (think BPAs). For reasons like this, I’ll always opt for one of Klean Kanteen’s stainless steel bottles. Oh, and one more thing, Klean Kanteen is also a member of 1% For The Planet, meaning that one percent of their yearly profit goes back to Planet Earth. If that doesn’t put a smile on your face about owning one of these bottles, then maybe nothing will.
