Who doesn't love a night in with the latest climbing DVDs? It's motivational, relaxing, and there is a lot to be learned from watching great climbers do their thing on (and sometimes off) the best rock on the globe. They also make excellent gifts for a friend or family who climbs. If you don't know which end of the rope is the 'sharp' one but want to give them something they can really enjoy, a DVD is a pretty good choice. Guidebooks are also good gifts for the more obsessive climber, and there is no shortage of those. Poring over a new climbing guidebook is the next best thing to being there and many a rainy day has been spent in cragside campsites, figuring out where to go as soon as the sun peeps out from behind the clouds.
