A favorite company on the mountain, Burton drew their first line in the snow in 1977 out of Londonderry, Vermont. With Jake Burton at the helm, Burton began producing snowboards out of a garage before they settled into larger space in Manchester, Vermont. While making boards, Jake also battled local ski resorts to begin letting snowboards share the mountain; with his efforts being greeted with success, snowboards became a hot co1mmodity, luckily, Burton was there to supply that need. Since they started in 1977, Burton has became one of the premier snowboard companies, and they make a range of boards, clothing, and snow accessories.
