Dave Gantz, some of you may know him as the Appalachian Outdoors employee/guidebook author who sports a pretty snazzy beard, has hiked over 10,000 miles across our country, and can probably answer any question about a trail on this side of the Mississippi. But if you don’t know much about him or his love of all things outdoors, we have the perfect opportunity to be exposed. This Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 7:00 PM, Gantz will be giving part one of his Free U seminar titled “Gantz’s Gear Shakedown.” In this, he will discuss his planning for a 400 mile backpacking trip beginning in Shenandoah National Park and ending in State College.
